Omron are longstanding valued clients of ours, and every shoot we get to learn about some pretty cool tech. This event was no exception, with an autonomous factory floor set-up to capture on camera. The complexities of the process of filming such a demo are all the (literal) moving parts, and making sure that all the stages of production are documented. To keep up with the collaborative robots we filmed with a gimbal mounted DSLR, and captured the event from above with a GoPro too. At intervals throughout the day we filmed vox pops and interviews from key stakeholders and used these to structure the edit. If the co-bots weren’t impressive enough to look at, the real impact comes from the statistics associated with them, which we knitted into the edit through advanced post-production techniques including camera tracking, motion tracking and rotoscoping. The video going forward not only has the benefit of reaching people who couldn’t make it to the conference in person, but also acts as an educational piece of the wider marketing mix.

Omron invited us to come to their showcase for flexible manufacturing to film their full demo set-up and conference. We love filming robots, so we packed up the kit and headed to Bolton!
