The Mandolay, a high-end boutique hotel in Guildford recently refurbished their property, and simultaneously were looking to overhaul the whole digital marketing element of the business. As such, they needed a new corporate video to promote the luxury facilities and show off the rooms – all of which are individually styled by Osborne & Little with an attention to detail typified by complimentary Molton Brown toiletries in all rooms.
We didn’t want the promo video to be repetitive, with pan shots of room after room, so we focused on getting lots of close-up cutaways of the finer details that set the Mandolay apart as a hotel. There was a lot to film so with a two person crew we spent the whole day at the hotel collecting footage. Logistically, we had to be flexible to fit into the schedule of a hotel that’s open for business as usual.
The finished corporate video is engaging, aspirational and displays the luxury that the Mandolay offers to it’s guests. It tells the story of a day at the Mandolay, starting slowly with a coffee in the comfortable lounge, leading on to the excellent conferencing facilities, the boutique bedrooms and afternoon tea, before continuing to the bar and 2 AA rosette award restaurant for dinner and wine. Both us and the Mandolay were very happy with the result and it sits proudly on the website homepage with a header video to grab the attention as soon as you land on the site.
